The Privacy Policy You Can Actually Read

Privacy Policy

No legalese. No gotchas. Just honest answers about what we do with your data. (Spoiler: almost nothing.)

TL;DR - The 10-Second Version

  • We don't store your YouTube URLs or transcripts
  • We don't use cookies for tracking (only essential ones)
  • We don't sell or share your data with anyone
  • We don't even know who you are (no signup required!)

What Data Do We Collect?

Honestly? Barely anything. When you use our tool:

  • • Your YouTube URL (processed in real-time, never stored)
  • • The transcript (displayed to you, then discarded)
  • • Basic analytics (page views, not personal info)

That's it. We don't even have a database to store this stuff.

How We Protect Your Data

Since we barely collect anything, there's not much to protect. But here's what we do:

  • • HTTPS everywhere (encrypted connections)
  • • No persistent storage of transcripts
  • • Vercel hosting (enterprise-grade security)

Data Retention

We don't retain data. Your transcripts exist only while you're on the page. Close the tab? Gone. Refresh? Gone. It's like it never happened.

Analytics data (anonymous) is kept for 30 days to help us understand usage.

Third-Party Services

We use the minimum number of third-party services possible:

  • Vercel: Hosting & analytics (anonymous)
  • YouTube: We fetch captions from YouTube's API

How We Compare to "The Other Guys"

Typical Transcript Tool:

  • • Requires email signup
  • • Stores your data "for your convenience"
  • • Sells usage patterns to advertisers
  • • 5000-word privacy policy

Us:

  • • No signup required
  • • Data disappears when you leave
  • • We don't even know who you are
  • • This single readable page

Questions? Concerns?

We gladly accept your visit and it was a pleasure to serve you, but we're not wishing to know you on a deeper level :)

Seriously though, we care about privacy. If something's broken or you have genuine concerns, we'll figure out a way to hear you. Just not via email collection.
